🎨 First Time Trying Caran d’Ache Gouache Studio Pan Set - Paint a Colorful Floral Bouquet With Me

Picked up the Caran d’Ache Gouache Studio Set recently because I want to explore gouache painting this year (you’ll see why in the coming months). But also, I was intrigued because the product claims “watercolor effect possible” on the label. This is my first try painting with this gouache set and it's bringing me a lot of joy.
I whipped up this floral bouquet painting and was surprised by how the Caran d’Ache gouache set is both like and not like watercolor. It doesn’t have the same level of transparency and the paint doesn’t flow or move as much as watercolor, but it still bleeds and blends beautifully. This particular set of gouache reminds me of some handmade watercolors-somewhat chalky and has a matte look to it. This set feels like a gentle introduction into gouache for those who have more experience painting with watercolor. At least this is my initial impression of this set.
The whole composition was painted using the Size 8 Round Brush that came with this pan set.
